About the Position

Are you passionate about creating vibrant and inclusive open spaces for the community to enjoy? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Open Space Business Unit as the Coordinator of Open Space Planning & Recreation.

In this senior-level role, you will play a pivotal part in planning, developing, and managing our open space and recreational facilities.

Key Accountabilities:

Lead the strategic planning and development of open spaces and recreational facilities.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance community engagement.
Oversee the design and implementation of recreational programs and events.
Manage budgets, resources, and projects related to open space development.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards.
Develop and implement strategies for enhancing the quality of open space assets.
Provide leadership and guidance to a dedicated team of professionals.

Key Challenges:

Balancing the diverse needs and interests of the community in open space planning.
Navigating complex regulatory and environmental considerations.

Decision Making:

Strategic planning for open space development and recreation.
Resource allocation and budget management.
Collaborating with stakeholders to determine project priorities.

Essential Requirements:

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning, Recreation Management, or a related field.
Extensive experience in strategic open space planning and recreational program management.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and community engagement abilities.
Understanding of environmental sustainability and green initiatives.
Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.

About the Person

What's on offer
We are offering an attractive total remuneration from
$124,849.79 to $143, Super.
