About the Position


Are you passionate about creating vibrant and inclusive open spaces for the community to enjoy? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Open Space Business Unit as the Coordinator of Open Space Planning & Recreation.

In this senior-level role, you will play a pivotal part in planning, developing, and managing our open space and recreational facilities.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the strategic planning and development of open spaces and recreational facilities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance community engagement.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of recreational programs and events.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and projects related to open space development.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies for enhancing the quality of open space assets.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a dedicated team of professionals.

Key Challenges:

  • Balancing the diverse needs and interests of the community in open space planning.
  • Navigating complex regulatory and environmental considerations.

Decision Making:

  • Strategic planning for open space development and recreation.
  • Resource allocation and budget management.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to determine project priorities.

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning, Recreation Management, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in strategic open space planning and recreational program management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and community engagement abilities.
  • Understanding of environmental sustainability and green initiatives.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.

About the Person

What's on offer
We are offering an attractive total remuneration from
$124,849.79 to $143, Super.
