About us


We are the state's largest provider of Out Of Home Care services and provide therapeutic care to young people across over 28 residential homes in Melbourne and Victoria.

Within each house, a team of between 8 and 12 staff provide trauma informed therapeutic care to young people which includes responding to the young person's emotional and functional needs, the development of their personal skills, all administrative requirements and household duties.


The aim is to provide a safe and nurturing home environment while supporting the young people to be the best they can be.


Your role:


Overseeing two therapeutic residential homes you are required to provide oversight of Residential Care providing day to day support & supervision for House Coordinators and Residential staff in a fixed term role covering an internal secondment for around the next 12 months.


Provide leadership, support and supervision to residential care staff and play a lead role in the creation of a culture that promotes healing from the range of traumatic experiences of the young people.


The skills you will use day to day:
Completing Case Reviews

Oversight of rosters and timesheets

Overseeing culture and staff wellbeing

Managing finance and budgets for residential homes

Building rapport with external stakeholders

Placement planning

Implementation of safety planning

A high level knowledge of adolescent and child development and the theories relating to Trauma and Attachment as the aftermath of abuse and neglect

Highly developed skills in managing the challenging and confronting behaviours that arise from this; in a calm and consistent manner and modelling this to staff

Strong understanding of therapeutic support and crisis intervention.

The ability to provide strong leadership, direction and coaching to residential care staff.


Qualifications:


To be considered for this role you must hold:
Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care).

Or


A relevant tertiary qualification which is recognized under the Residential Care Workforce Training Initiative, and a willingness to undertake top up training to meet the qualification requirements of the Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care).

Current First Aid Certificate.

Victorian Drivers License

You get a salary starting at around $107,079 plus super.

Salary packaging is available up to $15,900 plus an entertainment card.

SCHCADS award level 7.2.

Full time fixed term contract to February 2024.

You will be required to support the team after hours on occasion outside of the standard 9am-5pm
