About the role
This maximum-term role (to January 2024) is an ideal opportunity to gain exposure to the dynamic Water industry. Data is helping Sydney Water to manage our water assets and deliver great benefits to internal and external customers.

This is a fantastic role with great hybrid working conditions which will offer you the opportunity to develop your skills in asset data management and provide exposure to key platforms used in the Water industry and asset-intensive industries as a whole.

The Asset Information Officer assists Sydney Water's Asset Data Capture team and plays a key role in ensuring the quality and integrity of asset data and information, ensuring accuracy in asset creation and management.

Your duties will involve:

Capturing and maintaining data within asset information systems, including making updates and corrections as required.
Analysing and assisting in the resolution of data quality management issues.
Supporting Sydney Water's data capture and maintenance practices for asset information systems.
Assisting in the preparation of data and information management documentation to meet quality system requirements.
Working in partnership with all asset and operational businesses to provide effective asset data and information management practices,

About you

This is an entry-level position and will suit someone who loves data, who is very process-oriented, and who has an aptitude around engineering and/or an interest in enterprise asset management.

Just because it's entry-level doesn't mean it's easy You need to be someone who can look at a lot of lines and numbers and visualise what you are seeing, and you need to be able to clearly articulate this to your key stakeholders in both verbal and written form.

You will also have:

Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Information Management are desirable but not essential
Experience working with information management in water utilities (or similar industry)
