About the Company:
***Our Client is a huge organisation located in Brisbane Airport, they are after an experience payroll officer to work on a full-time basis in their Brisbane team.
Key Duties:
- Accurate and timely processing of all payrolls
- Payments to staff made on time and in accordance with the Company's obligations
- Ensure the Company complies with its obligations under relevant employment law and current industrial instruments including remuneration changes such as CPI increases, Allowances and Expense claims
- PAYG Withholding Tax, Payroll Tax, Workcover, superannuation and other obligations are correctly provided for and reported and any payments arranged to in time to meet the Company's obligations.
- Ensure the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely
- Ensuring holiday and leave entitlements are administered efficiently and liabilities correctly recorded
- Accurate and timely preparation of end of month payroll journals
- Completion of accurate and timely monthly and year end payroll reconciliations
- Systems development, implementation and maintenance to ensure accurate and efficient processing of all payroll related processes
- Work in conjunction with Management, other HR staff and external Auditors to ensure appropriate internal controls and risk management procedures are developed and maintained
- Development and ongoing preparation of payroll related reports to assist management
- Ensure accurate and appropriate records of payroll process and transactions are maintained
- Maintain positive and constructive working relationships with other departments including Finance
- General other duties as reasonably required
- Relationship and Personal management and maintenance of a customer service focus, particularly when dealing with queries from staff
Experience needed:
To succeed in this role, you should be self-motivated and able to work efficiently and collaboratively with:
- Minimum 3 years significant payroll experience
- End to end payroll processing experience
- Excellent knowledge and skills in Microsoft products particularly Excel
- Experience using CHRIS21 or similar payroll system
