About the Role:

Are you passionate about preserving our planet's rich tapestry of life? Do you possess a deep understanding of biodiversity science and a knack for translating knowledge into action? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you


Key role outcomes:

  • Priority biodiversity research needs are identified and effective, outcomefocussed partnerships between researchers, DEW business units and relevant external stakeholders are developed and maintained.
  • Emerging themes and issues relating to biodiversity and nature conservation are identified and considered within a South Australian context.
  • Timely and specialist advice, expert analysis and briefings are provided to the Minister, Chief Executive, Executive and senior management, on critical and complex matters related to biodiversity science and nature conservation.
  • Staff are empowered to enable the development and use of evidence in government decisions, through supportive team leadership.
  • Leadership, technical direction, mentoring and oversight are provided for ecologyrelated assessments, investigations and project development

Ongoing Contract


Essential Qualifications:

***A postgraduate qualification in a relevant science, e.g. applied ecology, environmental science or nature conservation is essential


Special Conditions:


  • May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties
  • A current class "C" driver's license and willingness to drive is desirable
  • Some out of hours work may be required
  • Intra
- state and inter-state travel including overnight absences may be required.


Remuneration:

PO4 - $109,060 min - $118,690 max p.a.
