This role is based in our Sydney office. We have a hybrid approach to work, 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

What you will do as a Application Support Manager:

  • Lead the Application Support teams in delivering timely and quality support services, including after-hours on-call support
  • Develop and continuously improve an operational management framework for cloud and onpremise solutions, encompassing systems, standards, processes, and procedures
  • Plan and oversee the implementation of new services, establish operational acceptance criteria, and manage the transition of new technologies and platforms into production operations
  • Perform key ITIL/ITSM practices, including Incident, Change, and Problem Management, serving as an escalation point for technology issues
  • Ensure timely completion of support tickets with regular updates of high quality
  • Develop and produce metrics, dashboards, and reports on service and budget performance, resource utilization, incident reviews, change schedules, asset allocations, and project plans
  • Conduct regular service reviews, providing performance reports, trend analysis, and recommendations for operational improvements
  • Manage GTS staff, including resource allocation, training, objective setting, performance appraisals, and career development
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and commercial opportunities through creative conceptual thinking and collaboration
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, while providing guidance on revisions to prevent noncompliance

What you'll need to succeed:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer/Software Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 810 years of softwarerelated technology experience
  • 3+ years in a leadership role for Application Support or equivalent
  • Agile development methodology experience
  • Coordinating and mentoring experience with other engineers
  • Strong analysis, design, and troubleshooting skills
  • Analytical skills and conceptual thinking for operations and system planning
  • Deep understanding of SQL and IIS administration
  • Thorough knowledge of C# debugging
  • Knowledge in Version Control Systems such as GIT
  • Demonstrated empathy and a solid understanding of client needs
  • Internally motivated, capable of working proficiently independently and in a team environment.
  • Financial Market Knowledge: General understanding of financial market operations and the financial platform industry.
  • CICD Pipelines: Experience with Azure DevOps and knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipelines.
  • Programming Proficiency: Strong programming skills in C#,.NET, HTML, JavaScript, T-SQL, , MVC, MongoDB, and familiarity with a wide variety of languages, development tools, and methods would be highly advantageous.
  • Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • Software Development Lifecycle: Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including best practices and methodologies.
  • ITIL Certification: Possessing an ITIL Certification, demonstrating an understanding of IT Service Management best practices.
