As the
Public Relations Manager,
(your primary focus is sharing the stories of over 1,300 independent family-owned businesses across Australia and growing IGAs SOV through earnt media coverage.

As a member of the Marketing team, you will help drive earnt media coverage and create engaging content that demonstrates IGA's brand purpose and points of difference, with the goal of encouraging people to choose to shop at IGA because of the meaningful difference IGA retailers play in local communities across the country.


The role works to support national, state, and local PR initiatives and is primarily responsible for supporting in the delivery of the always on PR strategy, key seasonal PR campaigns, highlighting IGA's value offer and sustainability initiatives, raising awareness of IGA's National Charity partnerships and providing localized PR support for IGA retailers.


What you'll do

  • Help to identify, drive and support PR initiatives and campaigns that result in positive media coverage for IGA and grows IGA's share of voice, with the aim of driving additional foot traffic to stores.
  • Support in the execution of key seasonal PR campaigns including Christmas and Easter Work with seasonal teams, agency partners, retailers, and state teams from briefing, message alignment, story collection, pitching, right through to conducting post analysis of all campaigns for future learnings.
  • Work with the Community Manager to support and drive awareness through earnt media opportunities of IGA's National Charity partnerships
  • Special Olympics Australia, The McGrath Foundation and Vinnies
  • Help create engaging content including Video News Releases, media releases and social media content that drives awareness of what makes IGA unique and different from the chains
  • Review all sponsorship opportunities against National Sponsorship opportunities and support state teams in leveraging statebased charity support and sponsorships.
  • Foster strong relationships with IGA retailers, PR agency & any other agency partners as well as crossfunctional internal relationships.

What you'll bring

  • Relevant experience and exposure in PR
  • A strong storyteller and copy writer.
  • Ability to build strong & collaborative relationships.
  • Understanding what makes a good story to get earnt media pick up.
  • The ability to translate insights into actionable PR initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating, and diplomatic skills to effectively manage relationships with diverse internal and external contacts.
  • A demonstrated ability to work autonomously & manage a wide variety of projects simultaneously & under tight deadlines.
