Concord Repatriation General Hospital is one of Australia's premier tertiary referral hospitals and is recognised as a world class leader in healthcare excellence and innovation.

It is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and provides an extensive range of treatment, including diagnostic and interventional services to people in NSW and across Australia.


The Department of Radiology at Concord Hospital (Concord Radiology) is an integral part of the hospital's services, specialising in Diagnostic Radiology and providing first-class services to the busy Emergency Department, highly specialised hospital inpatient services, Clinical Trials and other tertiary functions of the hospital.

It is a teaching department with a large Trainee cohort and strong participation in hospital multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings. We are looking for Radiologists to join Concord Radiology as Visiting Medical Officers in Diagnostic Radiology (Tier A).

We are looking for a Visiting Medical Officer in Diagnostic Radiology.

The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Diagnostic Radiology, and support these services within the Radiology Department and Hospital as required.


The Visiting Medical Officer will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an environment which supports the provision of timely and high-quality diagnostic imaging services.

In addition to participating in provision of Diagnostic Radiology, the Visiting Medical Officer may be involved in subspecialty Radiology (depending on training and experience) in areas such as abdomen, cardiac, neurological, musculoskeletal and/or breast.


Please note:
This position is until the end of the current SLHD Quinquennium, 31 December 2023.

The successful applicant may be offered a contract for the remainder of the 2023 Quinquennium and may be offered another contract for the new 2028 Quinquennium.


The successful applicant will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) with recognised qualifications in Radiology and/or other equivalent specialist recognition.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.


All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.


To be employed by NSW Health, you are required to provide evidence of current immunity status that complies with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy.
