Monash Health is excited to announce a part-time temporary Grade 2 Associate Genetic Counsellor position within its General Genetics Department, located at Monash Medical Centre Clayton.
- You will provide genetic counselling to a variety of clients for a wide range of genetic conditions.
About our General Genetics Department at Monash Health
About The Role
We are a medium sized, busy department. We are a friendly, welcoming and supportive team. The department sees prenatal, paediatric and adult patients, for a wide range of genetic conditions.
This role does not involve cancer genetics as there is a separate Familial Cancer Centre based at Monash Medical Centre.
The role is part-time EFT (depending on classification of successful applicant, hours per fortnight), temporary for 8 months, based at Monash Medical Centre Clayton.
About You
You have completed a Master of Genetic Counselling Course, and have at least 2 years of genetic counselling experience. You have a high level of knowledge and understanding of genetic counselling, including medical, genetic and psychosocial aspects. You have demonstrated clinical placement experience in the provision of genetic counselling. You have excellent written and verbal, English communication skills.
You thrive working in a fast paced environment as part of a multidisciplinary team and are a considerate and collaborative team member.
You are a proficient computer user, including excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new programs quickly.
