THE ROLE


As part of our diverse team based in Sydney or Newcastle, you'll provide secretarial, administrative, and organisational services to the Legal team.

This role involves a range of responsibilities and competing priorities.

The focus of this role is to support a diverse range of reporting and administrative responsibilities and to take responsibility and ownership of the assigned tasks and responsibilities of the role.

It will also be responsible for supporting the continuous improvement of the legal advisory and statutory dispute model within Legal.

This will be a
permanent role commencing
August/September based in the
Sydney/Newcastle office. You will help make a positive impact on someone's life every day. You will feel great satisfaction knowing your talent and hard work has a purpose.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaise with claims teams with regards to creating engagements of matters on the LPG which includes collating claim files, list of payments and file notes from GWCC and ensuring external legal providers properly receive notification of legal referrals, full claims files and legal documentation.
  • Monitor the LPG to receive and action, in a timely manner, documentation and requests lodged on the LPG by the legal provider, ensuring key dates are diarised and all relevant documentation uploaded to the GWCC claims file and brought to the attention of the relevant EML claims and legal personnel.

  • Review and maintain spreadsheets and reports to capture active litigation managed by the legal team.
  • Support the Legal team daily (legal specialists, dispute resolution officers, paralegal) to ensure smooth operating rhythm and excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Prepare relevant documentation including assisting with the formatting/typing of correspondence, agendas and presentations per relevant procedures and brand guidelines.
  • Provide leave coverage for the legal team paralegal.

ABOUT YOU

  • Excellent time management and prioritising skills.
  • Ability to adapt to fluctuating volume tasks and priorities.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite products including advanced skill level of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent keyboard skills
  • Willingness to develop an understanding of Workers Compensation insurance.
  • Willingness to participate in training and personal development.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively as part of the Legal team.
  • Knowledge of the LPG desirable, but not essential.
