About Kelsie SQUIERS:

I’m a farm-loving girl at heart, married and blessed with three gorgeous girls who keep life full of laughter and energy. I have a deep love for animals and the outdoors, and there’s nothing better than spending time surrounded by nature — whether it’s out on the farm or by the beach. Sport is a big part of my life too, not just for the fitness and fun but for the sense of teamwork and community it brings. I’m passionate about contributing to my local community and love being involved wherever I can make a difference. Above all, I value time spent with family and friends — sharing good company, good food, and plenty of laughs.

Experience

With 26 years of dedicated service in education, I am a Primary-trained teacher who has taught across all year levels from Kindergarten to Year 10. Throughout my career, I have embraced a wide range of teaching and leadership roles, fostering excellence in both academic and personal growth for every student.

I have extensive experience as a STEM and Science Specialist in the primary years, designing engaging, hands-on learning experiences that promote curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. In addition, I have delivered Physical Education programs across the whole school, promoting teamwork, resilience, and a lifelong love of health and fitness.

As a classroom teacher, I have led diverse classes over many years, implementing high-impact teaching strategies, differentiated instruction, and strong classroom management practices to ensure success for all learners.

More recently, I have transitioned into the role of Deputy Principal, where I continue to draw on my teaching expertise while leading whole-school initiatives in areas such as curriculum planning, wellbeing, attendance, behaviour, literacy and numeracy improvement, and staff development. My leadership approach is collaborative and student-centred, ensuring that every member of the school community feels supported, valued, and inspired to achieve their best.

Education

have undertaken extensive professional learning to strengthen my leadership, teaching, and wellbeing practices across all areas of school life. My training reflects a strong commitment to inclusion, safety, and continuous improvement. I have completed courses in restorative approaches, psychosocial hazard awareness, and work health and safety for leaders, ensuring I foster a positive, safe, and supportive school culture. I am Disability Confident and skilled in imputing disabilities for NCCD, with a strong understanding of FASD and strategies to support students with complex needs. My completion of Creating Supportive and Inclusive Environments for Gender Diverse Students and Diverse WA Cultural Competency training has deepened my capacity to lead inclusively and respectfully across cultures and identities. I have also strengthened my leadership capability through Coaching for Impact with Jim Knight and Leading Change in Schools, enhancing my ability to mentor staff, drive improvement, and lead with clarity and purpose.
