  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the ethical conduct of research and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and policies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of business improvement initiatives

Position overview


The Research and Innovation Portfolio (the Portfolio) is responsible for the University's delivery of high quality research outcomes and impact through industry and business engagement and strategic partnerships with Australian and international agencies, alliances and external partners that will enhance the University's strategic goals.

The Portfolio is led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation (DVCRI.)

The University Ethics Committees play an important role within the ANU research environment.

Their objectives are to protect the health and safety of people, and the environment, by identifying and managing risks posed by or as a result of involvement of human participants in research, the care and use of animals for scientific purposes and by regulating certain dealings with genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

The University is bound by the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research and subsequent amendments, The Australian Code for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes 8th edition and Gene Technology Act
