  • Casual position with flexible schedule, 2030 hours per week.
  • Company vehicle provided for travel throughout the South Burnett Region.

Recycled Organics Technical Assistant


Our client, an ecological engineering consultancy experiencing strong growth, is looking for a passionate and dedicated Recycled Organics Technical Assistant to join the team in the South Burnett region.


You will work with a team of highly motivated and qualified individuals and contribute to delivering long-term environmental and economic outcomes in sustainable land management and regenerative agriculture.

You will use your practical experience in agricultural land management to assist in supporting the delivery of the biosolids beneficial use program.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Attending various biosolids reuse worksites and supervising the receival of biosolids loads in accordance with End of Waste Code requirements.
  • Recording the details of biosolids consignments at delivery.
  • Maintaining sufficient washdown water supplies and pump operations for truck washdown after unloading.
  • Noting any WH&S issues, risks, or hazards and referring to the Project Manager for advice.
  • Providing daily summaries of activities to the Project Manager and other internal stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that all company Work Method Statements, policies, procedures, and other requirements are observed by all persons entering the worksites.
  • Liaising with landholders, truck delivery drivers, and spreading contractors to maintain a collaborative approach to site management.

You will have:


  • Prior experience in working in agriculture and/or a rural environment.
  • Willingness to learn compliance requirements relating to beneficial use of recycled organics in agriculture.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and listening).
  • Willingness to travel to field locations and work away when required.
  • Enthusiasm and aptitude for learning new skills and passing on knowledge to our clients and partners.
  • Ability to develop relationships and networks with diverse landholders across rural communities.


This is a casual position with an attractive hourly rate that may require 20-30 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that allows you to plan your work program in advance.

You may also be required to respond to unexpected breakdowns on a call-out basis. A company vehicle and data tablet will be supplied for work-related use.

This position is based in the South Burnett (Kingaroy-Nanango) region (remote/hybrid work location) and will require travel throughout the region.
