Key Selection Criteria:

- leading, undertaking, and clearly communicating complex economic data analysis that informs high level discussions and decisions
- undertaking and overseeing complex modelling which involves combining multiple data sets with assumptions and other calculations to derive economic data
- estimating the economic impact of government initiatives using input-output models and other data
- undertaking and overseeing research to better understand economic data/issues/concepts, analysis and modelling methodologies, performance of indicators, existing work and thinking from the relevant literature, and the consensus of commentators
- understanding and communicating key trends and issues for a broad range of economic data related to economic conditions, priority industries, the labour market, small and medium-sized businesses, productivity, skilled migration, higher education, international education, the local population, research and innovation, the green industrial transition, and regional economies and labour markets, and
- leading an economic analysis and advice team, and initiating and maintaining professional, collaborative relationships and networks.


Remuneration:

Competitive salary (ASO8 $117,554 min - $121,992 max pa) plus superannuation

Qualifications:


Essential:
Tertiary qualifications in economics or related disciplines.


Special Conditions:


  • The role will be offered on an ongoing basis.
  • Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) required prior to employment.
