Let's talk about the role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will provide the key technical interface point for the technology domain you will work closely with architecture and solution colleagues to define the backlog of work to be delivered across the domain.

The role will work across the technology domain to ensure that Epics are effectively broken down to User Stories that can be designed and delivered by DevSecOps teams and develop detailed acceptance criteria for Epics with the stakeholders that are allocated to the DevSecOps and Delivery Teams.

This role will assist in prioritisation of work across the technology domain and balance of backlogs across different DevSecOps teams and lead the technology domains engagement in scaled agile activities including program increment planning, retrospectives, RCA reviews, etc.


Main tasks:


You are ideally a Senior Development Engineer ready to take that next step into a design role, assessing initial requirements in terms of delivery and feeding that information back to the team, while being still hands on technical and working closely with solution architects in our delivery journey.

Additionally, you are well versed in both front end and back-end technologies and have ideally also worked in the cloud space.


Let's talk about your capability and experience:

  • Language: deep knowledge of Java
  • Experience with API integrations (REST, SOAP)
  • Building RESTful web services/API using Java, and Swagger is required.
  • Strong Front End experience using React
  • Experience Developing APIs and Microservices
  • Microservices Architectures and HMI modern Framework
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools, Cloud tools and Database technologies
  • Spring boot, Web Socket hybrid COM, Kafka pub/sub, Kotlin
  • IDE/CICD Tools: GIT, Bitbucket, Gradle, Cucumber, Jenkins, Eclipse, JIRA
  • Experience with formal software engineering process and experience in the whole lifecycle:
  • Writing & reviewing design, requirements, tests, and code
  • TDD approach
  • Experience in working large scale and distributed systems, being part of a greater whole than your component team or feature team
  • Experience delivering technical training
  • Devops culture and CICD methodologies
  • Agile methodology: Scrum
Nice-to-have

  • Microservices Architectures and HMI modern Framework
  • Cypress automation testing
  • Spring boot, Spring Webflux/Reactive
  • IDE/CICD Tools: GIT, Maven, Cucumber, Jenkins, Eclipse, JIRA, VsCode, Intellij IDEA
  • Scaled agile experience: Less, SAFe or other
  • AWS Experience
  • Experience in software development in a Critical Safety Environment
  • Previous Lead Experience a real bonus
