The Employability team at Swinburne University of Technology are looking for a Career Consultant to join their team

The position is responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of career development services across the university.

The position delivers face-to-face and digital career services targeting the career readiness of our students and graduates in both Vocational education and Higher Education courses.

It is responsible for providing up-to-date career development and employability support through partnerships with Schools and other business units in the University.

The Career Consultant as part of their responsibilities will be required to regularly work across all three of Swinburne University's campuses (Hawthorn, Croydon and Wantirna)


About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience in building sustainable relationships with academic and professional staff
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Career Development theories and frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and manage careers activities in a variety of modes which respond to a diverse range of student and client needs
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and promote an inclusive, healthy and safe careers counselling environment and provide support and advice to a diverse range of students and clients
  • Experience designing and developing digital career resources

Qualifications

  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in career development or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Post graduate qualification in Career Development Practice
