The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated person to perform the role of a Trials Officer at Graytown. In this exciting and challenging role you will plan, schedule and conduct explosive ordnance test and evaluation activities. This may include small - medium calibre dynamic trials, grenade and mortar trials as well as numerous static trials.


Working with the Establishment Trials Manager you will ensure trial site availability and resources are available to complete trial preparation activities, in support of the provision of safe and suitable explosive ordnance and material to the Australian Defence Force.


About our Team

Joint Proof and Experiment Unit Graytown supports guided weapon and explosive ordnance (GWEO) and material tests in support of Defence programs and projects.

The organisation captures munitions and material data that enables and supports Defence decision making on safety and suitability.

The Graytown Trials Team is a critical part of this process.

The Team interpret stakeholder requirements, undertake technical research, generate test procedures and deliver the suite of Defence explosive and material trials.

The Team carry out explosive test activities on a range of small-medium calibre munitions and other associated explosive components.


The Task Management Trials Team is a small team in a dynamic environment that works closely with Range Operations, conducting trials to support Army, Navy, Air Force, DSTG, CASG and LEA.

The Team is critical as they carry out overall planning and resource management for the dynamic and static explosive ordnance and material trials.
