Principal Mine Closure Studies

Work Location:
Perth - Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.


Roster:
Monday to Friday

We are currently seeking expressions of interest to join our Closure Team as a Principal - Mine Closure Studies. This is a permanent position, offering flexible workplace arrangements on a Monday to Friday Perth-based roster. Fixed-term secondment opportunities for internal staff will also be considered.

Reporting to the Manager Mine Closure, this role will lead pre
- and definitive feasibility studies to deliver guidance on and designs for closure readiness to mine operations and financial planning teams.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Lead multidiscipline study teams to convert closure strategies into executable plans
  • Establish study scope, schedules, budgets, priorities and ensure alignment of deliverables with established mine closure plan closure strategies
  • Analyse financial assumptions, models and proposed expenditure profiles for operational winddown and closure execution plans
  • Develop closure readiness tools and systems to reduce closure costs and / or optimise OPEX / CAPEX expenditure

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Demonstrable experience working as a leader or lead engineer on mining studies
  • Role requires experienced project manager with an ability to innovate and adapt well to agile environments
  • Experience in mine planning or financial management would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation, decommissioning / demolition or closure planning would be advantageous
