What are we looking for?


Ideally commencing in early July, this will be a hands-on role supporting an Executive General Manager and 6 legal Heads of Practice across our national Road and Work and Employment Law teams.


Reporting to the Head of People Experience, this role forms part of a national HR team and can be based in either Melbourne.

Some travel may be required.

As a true HR Business Partner you will be responsible for:

  • Understanding the Road, Work and Industrial and Employment legal practices business objectives and supporting their execution of their people and HR strategies
  • Leading all employment relations matters including disciplinary processes, investigations, grievances and performance management, coaching and guiding people leaders on their responsibilities
  • Advising people leaders on HR issues such as performance management, remuneration and benefits and general industrial/employee relations
  • Supporting the delivery of annual cycle activities including the annual performance & salary cycle, annual promotions, and other projects or key initiatives as required
  • Driving workforce planning initiatives and supporting the recruitment team in prioritising the recruitment needs of the business units
  • Operational support for governance processes (eg. recruitment approvals, offers, changes to employment terms and conditions, etc.)
  • Other HR requirements and administration related to the above needed (noting our HR Business Partners are supported by a competent HR Helpdesk/Administration team).
What will you bring?


Ideally you will be able to join our team during July, and be a quick learner with previous professional services experience.


In addition, our ideal team member will have:

  • A degree in HR or a related field
  • Solid Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner experience ideally working within an EA environment
  • Solid experience leading employment relations and disciplinary matters
  • Experience supporting a geographically dispersed client group
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and an ability to quickly build rapport
  • Proven time management and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • An ability to manage expectations and proactively and effectively communicate with stakeholders
