Essential Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification recognized by ACECQA
  • Current and Valid Working With Children Check or the ability to obtain one
  • First Aid Certificate, including asthma and anaphylaxis training

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Proficient understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS) to ensure quality practices and outcomes
  • Capability to lead and support a team of educators in the absence of the Service Manager
  • Ability to manage daily operations, including staffing and parent communications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions with families, staff, and regulatory bodies
  • Aptitude for addressing and resolving issues that may arise within the service

Desirable Skills and Knowledge:

  • Previous experience in a Service 2IC, Assistant Director, Assistant Service Manager, Lead Educator, or similar role within an early childhood setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff
  • Proficiency in using relevant management software and tools for communication, documentation, and reporting
  • Commitment to engaging in ongoing training and development
  • Skills to address and mediate challenges or disputes that may arise among staff or with families
