Role Description/Criteria

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and set up for practical activities and demonstrations in advance according to the timetable, requirements of the teacher and class.
  • Assist teachers during practical activities with supervision and support for students learning, including: collection of ingredients and equipment; working safely and hygienically; cleaning and packing away equipment and appliances; supporting individual or small groups of students; injured or unwell students
  • Trial new recipes to confirm quantities of ingredients.
  • Maintaining the Food Studies Room and equipment
  • Managing Stock

The successful applicant will have the following:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • An interest in food, catering and working in a school environment, with young people
  • An awareness of the safe work practices required in a Food Studies classroom
  • Registrations eg VIT or Working with Children Check
  • Current Police Check
  • An appropriate food handling certificate or the willingness to undertake training
