Mater's newly established
Finance and Operations Systems, Innovation and Governance team have an exciting position for an experience
Billing Systems Analyst.

This is a permanent full-time position based in our purpose-built offices in Newstead.


This is a pivotal role in supporting the maintenance, analysis and development of the processes and systems to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of patient billing.


Salary range:
commensurate with experience plus superannuation plus opportunity to access generous salary packaging


What you'll be doing
As a Billing Systems Analyst, your primary responsibilities of the role will include (but not limited to):

  • Identify, analyse, document and recommend improvements to billing systems processes, procedures and workflows. Document training materials when required.
  • Coordinate changes to the patient billing systems relating to new/updated health fund contracts, unit testing and user acceptance testing
  • Coordinate and monitor the utilisation of the Billing Managed Service (BMS)
  • Acts as a liaison between the frontend billing users
  • Provide direct support for the implementation of billing system upgrades/implementation and billing process changes
  • Delivery of regular reporting detailing results of analysis, recommendations, implementation plans and execution progress
  • Provide support to various projects including system upgrades and enhancements; capacity management; frontend revenue initiatives etc
  • Ensure data integrity and maintain data cleansing of all systems to ensure accuracy for revenue, funding and compliance of HCP data
  • Support system upgrades and projects
  • Support the leadership of the Finance and Operations Systems' team
  • Any other tasks as requested

About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in Private Health fund contracts interpretation and system alignment is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Medicare, WorkCover and DVA is essential
  • Demonstrated experience in Clinical systems (iPM, Practix, Merlin, Kestral or other similar clinical information systems) specifically in relation to Revenue and billing is highly advantageous
  • Proven reporting, analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Participate in performance development planning process
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships
  • Tertiary qualification (Business, IT or Health is highly desirable)
  • ITIL Foundation Certification is highly desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
