A bit about the role


As a Front of House Support member in our Arts, Events and Cultural Venues Department, you will be a key player in providing exceptional hospitality customer service and creating a positive experience for all patrons attending performances, functions, and events at Wyndham City's Cultural Venues.


As this is a customer-facing role, you will interact confidently and professionally with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures.

The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability to work business hours, evenings and weekends.


What you'll do

  • Support the Functions Supervisor and Front of House Officer to undertake hospitality service duties according to function and event standards and in line with Responsible Service of Alcohol Principles
  • Perform a range of hospitality tasks, such as food and beverage service, customer service in various catering formats, venue upkeep and cleanliness in accordance with agreed standards, stock management and handling cashless transactions for food and beverage sales
  • Attend to patrons' needs, questions, or complaints in a professional, friendly, confident and effective manner as per Council's rules and regulations
  • Assist with the set up and pack down of furniture and equipment in accordance with event requirements
  • Ensure that all Council OH&S requirements are met including reporting any hazards or incidents through to the supervisor
  • Actively assist as a Fire Warden in the event of an emergency evacuation at the venue (Fire Warden training will be provided)

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrated experience in front of house hospitality services
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol
  • Current Food Handling Certificate (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering quality customer service in events and/or hospitality venues
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including business hours, evenings and weekends
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
