About the role

The purpose of this role to provide clinical support across allied health services in the provision of high quality, evidence based, multidisciplinary clinical, education and research services at STARS.

This position will contribute to patient care by providing advanced clinical support tasks delegated under the direct supervision of an allied health professional, across a number of areas, including the Geriatric and Rehabilitation Services, surgical inpatients and ambulatory services.

The position will provide environmental and equipment maintenance of the specific work areas within the allied health services, STARS.
About you

  • Clinical Support Practice
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a defined range of treatments (Including group interventions, education and sewing) for patients with complex needs, as delegated by an allied health professional.
  • Communication / Team Participation
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills that enable the development of improved service delivery outcomes and effective relationships with staff, patients and other key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead scheduled clinical assistant team meetings, supervision (Including performance appraisal) and training/ development.
  • Leadership/ work unit management
  • Undertake day to day workload management of the clinical assistant workforce to accommodate planned and unplanned leave and changing requirements of the allied health team.
  • Refer to/and liaise with healthcare providers within the immediate team as well as community services using decision support tools, clinical pathways and patient specific guidelines.
  • Service Improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute positively to the allied health clinical team by initiating, planning and evaluating quality improvement activities under the guidance of an allied health professional.
