Health Information Services Filing Administrator

Temporary Full-time Opportunity

6 months Fixed Term

About the Role
Our Health Information Services (HIS) is a busy department providing a range of services to internal and external customers.

We are the backbone of the hospital, without our work our clinicians cannot provide high quality and continual patient care.


As a HIS Filing Administrator you will assist in filing away patient records, filing correspondence or loose filing documents into the medical record, moving medical records into new compactus bays, completing culls to remove old records from the current filing bays and other filing related duties.


This role requires you to be comfortable working on your feet for the entirety of your working hours and is very movement based.

This is not your average administrative desk job


This role will see you work alongside a professional administrative team and report to the Health Information Services Team Leader.


  • The HIS Department operates between 7am and 10:36pm Monday to Friday and 8:30am and 4:36pm Saturday and Sunday. We require staff who can work across 7 days of the week with 7.6 hour days._

About You


Crucial to this role will be your high level of accuracy, attention to detail and time management skills to manage a high volume of confidential patient data through our Medical Records system.


  • You will also demonstrate:_
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Exceptional customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use initiative and utilise efficient problemsolving techniques
  • Sound computer skills, including competence with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Previous experience in the Health Care sector (desirable but not essential)
