ABOUT THE BRANCH
The Policy and Governance Branch within the Shared Services Division is responsible for driving cross-government policy and governance outcomes.

The Policy and Communications team supports the executive to implement the APS Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) approach, including developing high quality briefing and communications products.


ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**We are looking for self-motivated and proactive team players who think creatively and look for solutions to complex issues. Working in the policy and communications team on the APS ERP approach will offer high profile, cross-agency exposure. You will develop comprehensive skills in policy development, stakeholder engagement, communication, whole-of-government frameworks and transformational projects. You will work with entities from across the Commonwealth to inform future policy development on corporate services transactional processing and provide policy certainty to entities for the future.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing strategic leadership for a review of corporate services transactional processing (the review) as part of the APS ERP approach. This will include developing policy options for the Commonwealth.
  • Analysing information from a range of sources to understand the current state, and articulate findings and future needs clearly in the review.
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders from across government including facilitating workshops, focus groups and bilateral meetings.
  • Developing highlevel communications documents that promote and explain the review and the broader APS ERP approach to Commonwealth entities, Finance executive and the Minister.
  • Developing and maintaining project documentation.
  • Gaining and understanding of and providing advice on policy levers surrounding entities' investments in ERP systems, while the review is being undertaken.
  • Proactively managing and reporting on timeframes, risks and issues. Meeting objectives and progress against milestones.

  • Successful applicants will be required to undergo the process to obtain and maintain, or continue to hold the required security clearance level for the role as indicated in the downloadable job pack. All Finance staff are required to have a minimum baseline security clearance prior to commencement.
  • This role is being advertised as nonongoing. The role will be filled for a specified term of up to 12 months. A specified term may be extended up to a maximum period of 18 months.
