We are looking for experienced
Network Locomotive Drivers to support Pilbara yard and mainline operations.


This role is a great opportunity to join a large-scale rail operation and a highly skilled team in the successful delivery of operational activities on a FIFO 7 days, 7 nights, 14 off roster, or a residential 4 days, 4 off, 4 night, 4 off roster.

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Facilitate the safe and efficient movement of trains across the network. The Iron Ore Pilbara rail network is comprised of both mainline and yard areas
  • Support AutoHaul and manned train operations in mainline and yard areas, including responses to both planned and unplanned events
  • In field presence to conduct inspections, monitor and report network condition and action as required
  • Maintaining the condition of the response hubs
  • Drive locomotive hauled trains in both mainline and yard safe working systems as required
  • Sharing knowledge, coaching and mentoring with other operators on all aspects of the role

What you'll bring

We're looking for experienced drivers who have:

  • A commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and your team
  • Certificate IV in Rail Operations (Train Driving)
  • A sound knowledge of Rail Operation requirements
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at various levels
  • Commitment to building strong relationships with your team and helping each other to learn and grow

Where you will be working


We operate 200 locomotives on more than 1,700 kilometres of track in the Pilbara, transporting ore from 16 mines to four port terminals.

The average return distance of these trains is about 800 kilometres with the average journey cycle, including loading and dumping, taking approximately 40 hours.


Our network is the largest privately owned and operated heavy haul rail system in Australia, and as we focus on the future, our vision is to become the greatest heavy haul railway in the world.
