Our client is a well-established and growing business specialising in construction, industrial and related products with a highly-specialised, market-leading specialist product range turning over more than $80M.


With a strong national footprint, they are a leading supplier of products to private and public sector construction and civil infrastructure projects.


This company has built on their early success through investment in product development and distribution lines, best practice manufacturing process and acquisition.


The Role


Reporting to the Managing Director, this position requires a switched on individual with strong inventory planning and purchasing experience to contribute to the success of the company's operations.


With the support of a Purchasing Officer, you will be tasked with overseeing inventory planning, forecasting, purchasing and quality control.


Responsibilities

Key areas of focus include:

  • Analysing inventory levels
  • Reviewing excess & obsolete stock
  • Approving and raising purchase orders
  • Tracking deliveries and performance
  • Ensuring optimal inventory levels to meet delivery expectations
  • Establishing sales forecasts in conjunction with sales team
  • Supplier performance and relationship management
  • Monthly reporting

Skills

  • Experience in purchasing / inventory planning in a product manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong Computer skills (Excel, Word, ERP Systems).
  • Good attention to detail with excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Relevant tertiary and/or technical qualifications are desirable.
