The Role


We're looking for an enthusiastic and talented team player to join us part time as Business Affairs Coordinator for the Commercial team, which is part of the broader TV and Online Content Division.

This is an administrative role.

  • Support the Business Affairs Manager and be directly responsible for a range of administrative and tasks relating to the acquisition and commissioning of television broadcast, online and digital rights for SBS channels.
  • Database maintenance, interpretation of correspondence, word processing and other administrative tasks.
  • Support and facilitate the smoothrunning of a portfolio including highvolume Main channel, Commissioned Content and NACA deals so it's important that you'll have the ability to appropriately prioritise your work while maintaining a high level of accuracy within a fastpaced deadline driven environment.

Some of the daily tasks include:

  • Administrative tasks as may be required to support a small and busy team.
  • Accurately input and maintenance of rights and financial information within the key IBMS database, as well as maintenance of records in financial and file management systems.
  • Populating contract templates and purchase orders.
  • Preparation of rights offers.
  • Follow up and communication with suppliers

About you

  • Motivated to maintain high standards in all aspects of your work, while also undertaking repetitive, complex, rights data capture tasks within established databases.
  • An interest in developing a deeper understanding of the business and administrative side of content creation, and if you'd like to learn more about the nuances of TV and online rights and licensing, this role is perfect for you.
  • Previous Business Affairs experience within the Film and Television industry is desirable, however applicants who demonstrate a strong interest in the field combined with the relevant skills will be considered.
  • Strong communication skills coupled with a high level of digital literacy.


Because this role is such a key support for the team, we need someone who is efficient, reliable and skilled in all aspects of administrative support.


This includes (but isn't limited to):

  • Experience in contract administration processes
  • Proven abilities to meet and prioritise competing deadlines
  • Excellent electronic document and file management abilities (eg. TRIM)
  • An understanding of IBMS (broadcast management database) is desirable.
