Job Summary
We're seeking a skilled Data Steward to enhance our data governance practices at Optus. As a Data Steward, you'll oversee data quality, security, and privacy, while also recommending improvements to data owners. You'll collaborate with data users to ensure data is documented, easily accessible, and used effectively.

To succeed in this role, you must have a talent for tracing data lineage, as well as exceptional communication skills to relay data needs and changes across multiple stakeholders.

Additionally, you'll need to work closely with internal teams to support data management platforms and ensure accuracy and completeness.

As a Data Steward, you will

Work with the Domain owner to establish data standards, definitions, and quality requirements.
Ensure data is welldefined, catalogued, and has clear lineage and a business owner who approves its use, definition, and quality requirements.
Prioritise and coordinate data issues and ensure prompt resolution.
Manage the Domain Data Forum, including preparing and distributing agendas, DQ dashboards, issues, and other relevant materials to members.
Provide guidance on DQ reporting, lead DQ issue resolution and profiling as needed.
Lead and mentor the stewardship team in effective partnering, engagement, and stewardship skills.

To excel in this role, you should have

A talent for tracing data lineage and communicating data needs, practices, and change impacts across diverse data users.
Proven experience in leading or supervising direct or indirect teams.
Expertise in data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence.
Familiarity with data management tools, such as DQ, metadata, business glossaries, and master and reference data management.
Excellent communication, presentation skills and stakeholder management skills.
A strategic mindset and commercial acumen.
