ABOUT THE ROLE
Nielsen Technology Team is seeking a detail-oriented IT Operations Support Specialist with a passion for following procedures. You'll be responsible for resolving IT incidents, deploying and maintaining software/hardware, and ensuring accurate records are kept. Additionally, you'll maintain network integrity/security, participate in routine tasks, and collaborate with others to achieve team success.

  • ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • High emphasis on data entry following ITIL framework methodology
  • Timely resolution of IT incidents, software and hardware related.
  • Basic network administration: timely set up of user privileges, including addition of new user accounts, timely removal of nonexistent users and or resources.
  • Software and hardware deployment and controls while keeping all asset registry information up to date.
  • Documentation: Keeping important records uptodate and following the best practices of the industry. If any required documentation is missing, it is the responsibility of the job role to create and maintain it.
  • Escalate all issues to senior members within IT, when beyond your level of expertise or where the impact is global in nature (effecting a group of users and or the entire business).
  • Branch site colocation Environment management
  • Ensure capacity and availability
  • Maintain network integrity and security
  • Ensure up to date records are kept for maintaining infrastructure in colocations
  • Manage cases in the Help Desk system throughout the case lifecycle and agency manage until resolution.
  • Follow the Nielsen defined change management documentation/process when considering changes to critical systems.
  • Participate in a one week per month scheduled oncall rotation, involving routine tasks to uphold the quality of data delivery
  • Additional duties:
  • Comply with all reasonable directions and instructions by the Director of Information Technology and the IT Operations Manager.
  • QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Demonstrate strong logical thinking skills to investigate and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
  • Utilise investigative skills to identify and solve problems proactively.
  • Qualifications (Diploma or Degree) in Information Technology or similar
  • Basic troubleshooting skills of Windows operating systems.
  • Basic Networking/infrastructure understanding (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with Administration of Microsoft Windows
  • Understanding of Windows Active Directory.
  • Practical knowledge of Network technologies and typology operations.(Beneficial)
  • Must have good time management and organisational skills, be punctual and reliable.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Desire and willingness to collaborate and engage with others in order to achieve team success and goals
