About the role


A full-time, permanent opportunity based in our modern offices in Perth's CBD has become available for an experienced Civil Designer to join our internal Civil Engineering Team.

Reporting to the Manager of Civil Engineering, you will be responsible for a wide range of civil design work to support our expansion and rail project teams.


The position would suit a motivated, practical and adaptable individual who aspires to have a rewarding career and maintain work life balance.


Working closely with our engineering teams, key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Preparation of concept site layout drawings for CBH sites and expansion projects
  • Preparation of detail civil drawings for roads, pavements and drainage
  • Checking project deliverables, outputs and data generated by others in the team
  • Review and checking of drawings as provided by external vendors
  • Participate in design reviews and operability assessments to comply with CBH standards and procedures
  • Support and liaison to the construction team including response to Technical Queries / Requests for Information
  • Service CBH Group engineering work requests including engineering support and drafting for CBH Operations
  • Ensure that the engineering and document management processes are followed

What you will bring to the role:

  • Minimum 7 years' relevant civil design experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD drawing package. Experience with Vault drawing management software is a plus.
  • Exposure to or experience on large design projects
  • Experience in geometric road design.
  • Experience designing to the requirements of the Australian Standards, Austroads and/or MRWA.
  • Knowledge of drawing and survey management, and document control practices
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good organisation skills
  • Positive attitude and a pragmatic, results driven approach
  • Drafting or equivalent qualifications
  • 12D design experience will be beneficial but not essential.
