The NSW Department of Education is looking for a hands-on Student Administration Officer - Subject Matter Expert to support numerous initiatives spanning a number of project and operational demands.

About the role


The department is looking for a Student Administration Officer - Subject Matter Expert to assist the Digital Student Management portfolio and contribute to the delivery of training and implementation in line with established objectives.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Hold a valid clearance to work with Children (Working with Children Check) or be willing to obtain.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education

Key knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and translate user requirements into usable quick reference guides.
  • Ability to adhere to a quality management system and formal methodologies.

About you
We are seeking a highly motivated Student Administration Officer - Subject Matter Expert, who can:

  • Identify areas where Student Finance solutions provided by vendors would improve business performance within schools
  • Assist in the creation of quick reference guides, training manuals and other documentation that can be provided to NSW schools administration staff to adopt as best practice
  • Liaise across schools, business, operations and contribute specialised knowledge to the digital uplift for schools
  • Determine functional gaps provided by the vendors and develop mitigation strategies to minimise impact on pilot schools
