About the role:


Reporting into our General Manager Liquor - Commercial, you will work cross functionally with our Sourcing and Category Managers, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain and department heads, as well as partnering closely with Suppliers to ensure Coles Liquor Group (CLG) delivers products of quality and integrity for our customers.

You will also play an important leadership role within the Commercial Leadership team.


You will be tasked with creating, implementing, and driving the CLG Quality Assurance strategy in line with legal and regulatory guidelines, with a focus on sustainability, ethical sourcing, specification management and business critical legislative impacts.


You'll also:

  • Manage the product, supplier and consumer risk process for proprietary products including complaints process management, product recall / withdrawal association and risk mitigation at supplier, store, and customer level
  • Manage the entire CLG product life cycle from production to purchase to ensure the highest quality of product is available to our customers
  • Identify and lead key projects that support the CLG total business strategy
  • Ensure that all existing and upcoming Exclusive Liquor Brand (ELB) products are produced at appropriate sites that adhere to audited QA programs
  • Act as the QA Lead for New Product Development (NPD), embedding a QA focused safe and legal compliance framework
  • Own the CLG Sustainability initiative, and influence and help the business drive and steer for success within this space

About you and your skills:


You will have extensive experience in a quality assurance or a technical role within the wine and / or liquor industry.


You'll also have:

  • Detailed understanding of HACCP & GMP, and an understanding of FSANZ and other applicable labelling requirements will be highly regarded
  • Strong influencing and communication skills, with the ability to advise and engage at senior management and board level
  • Tertiary education in a relevant discipline (Food Technology, Science, Engineering)
  • Strong team management and leadership experience to drive engagement and build on talent
  • Cross functional influencing work with product technologists, product developers and category managers
