Business Banking (BB) manages relationships with Commonwealth Bank's small-medium enterprise customers, mid-market and large corporate customers, as well as regional and agribusiness customers.

We offer a comprehensive range of products and services designed to meet business requirements, including transaction banking, cash flow, capital, wealth, risk management and trade finance.

BB also services personal and institutional online trading customers through CommSec.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Risk and Control Enablement in BB CCO, you are joining a team that covers a wide stream of work that includes Group policy reviews and implementation, regulatory change implementation and managing privacy risk and compliance activities.


What a day in your role will look like

  • Support the implementation of Non-Financial and Financial Risk policy change within BB
  • Support the business to manage the Line 1 Policy Liaison (PL) function in BB
  • Support the BB CCO Regulatory Engagement team with coordinating responses to regulators and assessing business gaps
  • Supporting the BB CCO Privacy team with the management of privacy requests, issues and incidents
  • Lead and/or represent BB in Group Policy Working Groups to ensure BB requirements are considered and met in policy design, implementation and embedment
  • Lead Policy changes to confirm they are fitforpurpose for BB ensuring alignment across the business
  • Proactively work with stakeholders primarily across BB (including Line 1 Operational Risk, Line 2 Operational Risk and Compliance, Product and Distribution teams) to assist in defining, embedding and maintaining the BB Policy implementation Framework across BB
  • Support a proactive risk and control culture, collaborate with the business and Line 2 colleagues to determine optimal courses of action to ensure compliance within Business Banking
  • Manage and track fortnightly, monthly and quarterly policy pipeline reporting
  • Identify business process uplift improvements to simplify and automate
  • Support other initiatives across the wider BB CCO community where capacity permits

What will you need to succeed in this role

  • Knowledge of Operational Risk and Compliance frameworks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound analytical, technical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to find solutions that balance the needs of various stakeholder groups
  • Experience in engaging with and influencing large and varied stakeholder groups
  • Selfawareness and contributor to team success
  • Strong organisational, planning, time management and project management skills.
