Our Client:
Our client is a well established and respected household name here in Australia, but they were little known until recent times for their Energy & Infrastructure division.
The Energy & Infrastructure team is committed to moving the dial on climate change and decarbonisation in particular e-mobility innovation.
The group was an early mover in preparing the country for the EV revolution.With the Federal government promising that Australia will have a truly national EV Charging Network within the coming years.
The government has committed significant funds to develop the network, whilst establishing partnerships with State, Territory and local Governments, communities, and industry.
Outside of just supporting the growth and uptake of Electric Vehicles, our client supports business lines that span renewables, other forms of transport and tourism.
The Role:
***Reporting to the Senior Manager of Safety & Compliance, you will be responsible for the delivering and management of technical HSE support, procedures, policies and plans the national business. With offices that span the eastcoast, this position can be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane and you will be required to travel from time to time to sites.
Duties include:
- Delivering safe work procedures specific to this organisations Energy division, which comply with Australian Standards and relevant legislation / regulations, that support individual site projects (as well as the wider program of works) construction teams
- Support project risk management and governance teams, as well as the Group Safety and Environment Team to provide effective and efficient Safety and Environmental Management
- Undertake, or lead, investigations in relation to Safety related incidents or issues and provide recommendations to construction teams on suitable controls to avoid a repeat.
- Maintain a 'Safe Working Culture' on site through ongoing active engagement and education of leaders and the workforce.
- Facilitate safety training programs to instill a proactive cando attitude and positive team culture across the project teams.
- Assist the organisation with achieving ISO 45001 in 2023
Experience required:
- Previous experience in a similar role ideally from a renewables, power (energy) generation, or utilities background
- A relevant qualification in WHS/OHS
- Have the ability to interact with varied stakeholders from onsite delivery teams through to boardroom executives
- Ability to conduct incident investigations and deliver your own risk assessment
- Be focused on lead indicators
