About the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO)


The Reserve Bank's Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) is a centralised function that is responsible for providing effective governance over the Bank's strategic investment portfolio.


Our objectives are to strengthen project management practices, provide assurance and oversight across the Bank's portfolio and guide improved project governance and delivery.

We support the evaluation, prioritisation, and ongoing monitoring of the Bank's project portfolio. We also provide advice and support to the Bank's Investment Committee.

The Role


Residing within our Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), we are seeking an experienced PMO Manager to play a key role in the oversight and assurance of the control environment for assigned projects.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of assigned projects, with responsibility for assurance that project controls are applied to a high standard.
  • Proactive risk management on projects, ensuring coverage and completeness of risks and mitigation across delivery and delivered risks.
  • Critically analyse projects, including strategies and risks, controls and systems as well as project reports. Document and raise issues (including root causes) and improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress, issues and risks in line with established benefits, scope, schedule and budget.
  • Provide advice and guidance to Project Managers on the Bank's project methodologies, tools and governance processes.
  • Champion, promote and share project learnings and bestpractice; support an uplift in Agile practices at the Bank.
  • Partner with project teams to continuously improve Business Cases, Change Requests, Status Reports and Steering Committee material.
  • Monitor project benefits and crossproject dependencies for assigned projects.
  • Build and maintain positive and accountable stakeholder relationships.

What We Are Looking For:


You will have a passion for ensuring projects are planned and executed to the highest standard and have exceptional interpersonal skills.


To be successful you should have:

  • Extensive experience in PMO Management with broad knowledge of assurance methodologies and reporting outcomes of assurance.
  • Solid understanding of Project and Risk Management frameworks and tools, with experience in supporting adoption.
  • Experience in delivering complex projects using Agile and Waterfall techniques.
  • Experience in collecting, analysing and interpreting project data to provide insightful recommendations for decisionmaking and continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Tertiary qualifications relevant to the Bank and project management certifications (e.g. Agile, Prince2, PMBOK).
