About the Project - Upper South Creek


New greenfield Advanced Water Recycling Centre and associated infrastructure which will provide wastewater services and recycled water for the Aerotropolis, Western Sydney Airport and Southwest Growth Areas.

The project will include the Design, Construction and 10yr Operation of a Wastewater Treatment Plant and an Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant, which will produce:

  • High-quality treated water suitable for recycling & environmental flows to an ultimate capacity of 70ML/d
  • Biosolids suitable for beneficial reuse
  • A new 25km pipeline from the AWRC to Sydney Water's existing wastewater system to discharge brine.
  • A new 16km pipeline from the AWRC to the Nepean River, to release excess treated water.
  • This project will be one of the most technologically advanced wastewater treatment plants in the Southern Hemisphere.

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Provide strategic human resource and industrial relations advice as part of the senior project management team
  • Coordinate onboarding and training of staff and wages personnel to meet specific project deliverables and outcomes
  • Develop strong relationships with Project, Corporate teams and multiple stakeholders' groups across the project to leverage project outcomes
  • Develop, oversee and administer project HR/IR activities including, employee relations, onboarding, training & development, and whole of project lifecycle initiatives
  • Develop innovative initiatives and influence project stakeholders to increase local, Indigenous, female and new entrant participation in projects
  • Establish and deliver on commitments such as project ERMP's, social performance targets, building code compliance and right of entry
  • Maintain and review the project workforce plan and initiate appropriate action
  • Manage a small team of HR/IR professionals

To be successful in this key role, you must have;

  • Qualification in Human Resources, Employee Relations or Business
  • Minimum of 57 years' experience providing senior level strategic HR leadership
  • Strong background working in HR/IR and/or training in the Australian construction or heavy industry environment
  • A passion for and previous experience in increasing local, Indigenous and female participation in projects
  • Leadership skills and the ability to create effective teams with a strong focus on delivering outcomes
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, delegate and make decisions that contribute to the strong performance of projects
  • Resilience when faced with adversity and commitment to improving the lives in the communities in which we work
  • Management experience in performance management and addressing under performance as required
