What you'll be doing

The Northern Sydney Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Sexual Assault Service provides an integrated tertiary level response to children, young people and adults who have experienced or are affected by sexual assault and to children under ten who have problematic harmful sexual behaviours.

The Sexual Assault Clinical Lead provides professional and clinical leadership for the sexual assault service while maintaining a clinical load and participating in the Referral Management and Early Response to clients referred to PARVAN Services.

This role works with the PARVAN management team to coordinate the delivery of the PARVAN 24/7 Integrated psychosocial medical and forensic on call service.

  • Full registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist and have completed a minimum of one year at the 9th year of service or completed a Masters, Doctorate, or PhD degree in Clinical Psychology or tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and post graduate experience at a minimum of level 2 or above. Applicants must be Female
  • Under Section h) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 197
  • Demonstrated expert clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of crisis and medium term counselling interventions to children, young people and/or adults who have experienced sexual assault and other forms of violence, abuse and neglect as well as to children with problematic harmful sexual behaviours.
  • Demonstrated leadership in effective communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to identify opportunities and innovatively lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of service delivery incorporating continuous improvement, evidencebased practice and research.
  • Extensive post graduate experience in crisis intervention, client centred advocacy and the delivery of trauma model of counselling from within a feminist framework.
  • Ability to participate in the 24hr PARVAN on call service and current unrestricted NSW Driver's License and willingness to provide services at different locations within NSLHD.
