Take on a diverse role in the Risk, Valuation and Rates team within the Commodities & Global Markets division that will see you work with a wide range of stakeholders across the business, technology and support groups.

The Front Office Analyst will support the Macquarie Commodities and Global Markets Trading Business.

The Risk, Valuations and Rates (RVR) team is responsible for providing daily risk, rate, and other analytical support for the business.

While not direct risk managers, RVR are valuation and risk methodology experts and are also involved in solving operational issues with deals and rates across our trading systems.

The team also uses specialist risk and valuation expertise to support exciting division-wide initiatives that allow us to better manage our risk, meet our regulatory obligations, and generally improve the efficiency, transparency and safety of our processes.

In this diverse role, you will be part of a team that works closely with all businesses across Commodities & Global Markets.

This is a great opportunity to develop a strong understanding of the full suite of products offered by the Commodities & Global Markets businesses, including commodities, FX, rates and credit markets divisions.

A day in the life will look like:

Direct problem solving of valuation and risk issues for the trading desks, using first-principles finance knowledge, as well as in-depth knowledge of our trading and risk systems
Providing support to ensure timeliness and accuracy of rates used in daily business P&L and risk reports
Engaging with multiple stakeholders within the Commodities & Global Markets business and related functions to improve the way we manage risk, deals and rates across various systems
Being exposed to a broad range of Commodities & Global Markets products and systems so you can contribute to several divisionwide initiatives

Ideally, you will have:

Risk analytics experience in financial services, ideally with some experience in business analytics or projects
Strong technical and problemsolving ability, alongside communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong understanding of fundamentals of markets, derivative pricing and risk management
Proficiency in Excel, with VBA and/or coding skills
Strong interest in the commodities, FX and rates markets
Qualifications in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Actuarial or similar is advantageous
