The role of the Category Manager - Maintenance Services is to develop and execute best in class procurement processes to drive effective sourcing strategies and contract management aligned with the Opal Group strategic priorities and business needs.
This position will be based at our Burnley Head Office and require occasional travel to manufacturing sites across Australia with a focus on our Maryvale Paper Mill and Wodonga manufacturing site.
- Conduct strategic sourcing projects and negotiations for assigned categories.
- Lead RFI and RFP process including negotiation for Major Shut activities, management of Major Shut Contractors throughout the shutdown and attendance at Major Shut meetings.
- Manage supply base and stakeholders of existing agreements.
- Develop best in class preferred supplier shortlists for assigned categories.
- Sourcing and management of other categories as required
- Manage spend compliance and leakage reporting.
- Establish and maintain strong and efficient communication networks throughout ANZ regional businesses.

This really is a diverse role requiring someone who is energetic, self-driven and super keen to get involved in anything and everything Of course, you will also have some critical skills & experience such as;
- Relevant degree or diploma
- Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain Management.
- Minimum 8 years relevant procurement and supply chain experience.
- Managed significant category in excess of $80M.
- Knowledge of procurement concepts and processes.
- Strategic Sourcing methodology.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
- Supplier management & development.
- Project management skills.
- Experience utilising SAP Ariba.
