The Nursing and Midwifery Leadership team are seeking an experienced leader to join the team in the role of Associate Director of Nursing and Midwifery (ADONM) Advanced Practice Pathways.


The ADONM role is pivotal in supporting Nursing and Midwifery leadership to understand advanced practice roles, pathways and develop opportunities for nurses and midwives to advance and expand their practice.


To be successful in this role you will have;

  • A sound understanding of nursing and midwifery pathways and relevant legislation
- demonstrated strong leadership and management skills in a complex health care environment

  • Project management experience and the ability to meet deadlines and maintain sound and accurate records
  • An ability to communicate across disciplines through all modes and confident presentation skills
- the ability to navigate systems and regulatory codes and guidelines pertaining to scope of practice and advanced roles
- experience in workforce planning, management principles and contemporary practice for nurses and midwives in the public healthcare setting

  • Insight and knowledge of the Registration and Regulatory principles and understanding of contemporary nursing and midwifery practice capabilities
- experience in leading change, engaging with purpose and empowering others through a proven ability to manage stakeholder engagement


This role will play a pivotal part in supporting the Deputy Executive Directors of Nursing and Midwifery in developing innovative models of care and implementation of advanced practice pathways, frameworks and related activities with the new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement coming into effect over coming months.

The role will work across all campuses of Western health and is a fixed term position for 12 months. Secondments are supported at Western Health.
