THE ROLE
This national law firm are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Float Secretary to join their team.

In this role, you will provide comprehensive secretarial and legal administrative support across multiple practice areas, including Workers Compensation, Insurance Litigation, Corporate Commercial, and Property law.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Effectively managing client communications and ensuring compliance with procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintaining and coordinating calendars, monitoring court and client timeframes, and providing timely reminders.
  • Performing word processing and typing tasks, as well as accurately amending and formatting correspondence and other documents.
  • Assisting in preparing legal documents and correspondence.
  • Filing court documents online in various jurisdictions.
  • Organising and maintaining files.
  • Drafting briefs, including observations, indexing, document collation and tabulation.
  • Arranging meetings, appointments, and coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Handling billing tasks, including time entry, bill preparation, review, and finalisation.

THE CANDIDATE
To succeed in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Demonstrated experience as a legal secretary, with a
    minimum of 3 years' experience in any area of law.
  • Strong initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Familiarity with various legal disciplines and the ability to adapt quickly to different practice areas.
