What is the role?


The AFP is looking for a highly motivated, skilled, enthusiastic leader at the Team Leader level (Executive Level 1) to lead the Deployment Resourcing team within International Deployment Management.

Deployment Management sits under the Command that supports one of the AFP's key areas of emphasis is to contribute to Australia's international law enforcement interests through cooperation with key international partners to:
combat transnational organised crime and corruption
respond to emergencies
participate in mandated peace operations
provide law and order capacity building missions to enhance rule of law internationally and contribute to regional stability
contribute to Australia's border management and security


As a Team Leader you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual.

Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

Well-developed expertise in human resources practices including recruitment, policy and training processes.
Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice and support employees in an International setting.

Essential Requirements

A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Extensive experience and knowledge in a HR generalist of specialist role.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
Desirable Requirements

The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:
Tertiary qualifications in relevant field.
