Teacher/ Co-Director (Permanent Part time)

C&K Everton Park Kindergarten: Everton Park Kindergarten is a community kindergarten established in 1962. We are affiliated with C&K.

Our Kindergarten is situated in a quiet location in Everton Park and off street parking allows safe access.

We are a single unit centre catering for 2 groups of children with a maximum of 25 in each group.

Children attend a five day fortnight (8.45am to 2.50pm) during QLD school terms.

Our setting provides a wide range of learning environments.

  • Areas to connect with nature and develop sustainable practices eg gardens, shady forest area, open grassy spaces.
  • Safe areas that offer enjoyment, inclusion, choices, quiet play, imaginative play, active exploration and physical challenge that are characterised by flexibility, order and cleanliness

About the role:


C&K Everton Park Kindergarten has a permanent part-time position available for an experienced Early Childhood Professional to join the Kindergarten as the Teacher/Director for Group 2 (Thursday, Friday and alternate Wednesday).

This role will see you being part of a Community Kindergarten which supports the local community's families and children. You will be working in a small passionate and dedicated team.

Our small team love our Kindergarten, we are only filling this role due to retirement of our Group 2 teacher/co-director after 37 years.


The role is 37.50 hours per fortnight plus additional paid hours/release time for non-contact (including quality improvement administration and educational leadership).

This Position:

For this Teacher/Co

  • Director position, we are looking for someone who is a selfstarter, passionate about community and has a creative vision. You must be committed to continuous improvement; through a collaborative approach with colleagues, community, families and children.
Previous Director experience is desirable but not essential.

You must be an approachable leader amongst the community of families, children and employees; with a hands-on approach in managing the service operationally.

As the Teacher, you will have an ability to document and assess children's learning and development.

Model and support the room educators to utilise a variety of teaching strategies including intentional teaching and reflective practice in daily work.


Ideal applicants will have:


  • Bachelor's Degree in early childhood or equivalent (recognised by ACECQA as an early childhood teaching qualification)
  • Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers prior to appointment. This registration must be renewed annually
  • Willingness to undertake the role of nominated supervisor/educational leader
  • Knowledge of National Quality Framework and Standards ("NQF" and "NQS"), the Early Years Learning Framework ("EYLF")
  • Current paid or Exemption Blue Card
  • Current First Aid, CPR and Asthma and Anaphylaxis Training
  • An understanding of the provision of a safe, well planned indoor and outdoor learning environment
  • An ability to document observations of children's behaviour and development
  • An ability to implement a planned program, ensuring the needs of individual children and the group are met
  • Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring and supporting early childhood education and care services/programs to deliver high quality outcomes, and in building a capable and engaged workforce.
  • Evidence of sound professional experience that shows initiative and strong sense of personal responsibility for meeting objectives, modelling of professional and ethical behaviour, commitment to personal development; and display or courage in the provision of advice and decision making.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and high level interpersonal skills, including a capacity to develop positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
