An immensely successful Australian retailer that has maintained position as the market leader in its sector for almost a century At present, the business has embarked on a growth phase with international expansion through acquisition of premium international brands.


Role:


Due to an internal promotion, a position has become available for an experienced & driven DC leader to take ownership of the DC centre operations and drive improvement initiatives both operationally and structurally ensuring most appropriate and effective space utilisation within the facility.

You will also participate and lead certain continuous improvement projects such as automation of various sectors of the site.


You will have 1 direct report, a Team Leader who will support you in the day-to-day floor operations of the distribution centre.

This position is best suited to someone who thrives in revising current processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Take ownership of the performance, training and personal development of your team
  • Oversee the WH&S of the area
  • Resolve and coordinate the repair of all material handling equipment breakdown through internal or external resources & recommend and implement workaround solutions
  • Review processes and procedures for site is opening and closing
  • Drive workflow in the DC, including receiving, putaway, picking, shipping, and administrative activities to ensure objectives are met in an efficient manner
  • Establish daily labour requirements for all areas of the operation
  • Ensure all DC operational tasks are completed in accordance with customer service and productivity objectives
  • Ensure all orders are picked/processed/shipped in accordance with customer service objectives
  • Complete an effective roster in line with the current EBA, advising employees of any changes in roster or shift times
  • Conducts daily Operations meetings at the DC to assure shift objectives are being met keeping all stakeholders informed of priorities
  • Direct the functions and personnel of a shift or function to achieve desired results per the daily operations plan

You:


  • Have a trackrecord of successfully driving change management and processes improvement
  • Are a selfdriven, high performer who is an innovative problem solver and who seeks to fasttrack their career with a market leader
  • Are an experienced DC Centre Manager with a successful trackrecord of driving change management and process improvement
  • Are experienced with B2C online sales from a logistics perspective
  • Experienced working in unionised environments
  • Have an understanding of Fair Work and EBA's
  • Have a solid understanding of workplace safety and wellbeing practices
  • Computer literate
  • Are a strong communicator, both written and verbally
