About the role:We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Coordinator to manage and implement the delivery of Skills and Jobs Centre services including the provision of high quality, well informed, unbiased and individually-tailored career advice to a wide range of clients.


Key duties and responsibilities:


  • Coordinate in the development and implementation of the Skills and Job Centre services including projects, resources and programs in collaboration with internal/external clients, in line with external legislative, policy and/or professional requirements, with the aim to maximise the range, quality and number of opportunities available to clients, students and graduates which are critical to their employment outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practice, emerging trends (including labour market information) and innovation to enable the implementation of processes and projects to drive career outcomes for clients, students and graduates.
  • Provide careers and employment advice in collaboration with internal/external specialists.
  • Develop industry relationships, maintain and engage a network of stakeholders for collaborative projects, partnership agreements and other mutually beneficial relationships to enhance the client experience and add value to the broader Institute community.
  • Work cooperatively with team members to deliver services that support vulnerable members of the community needing assistance to identify their job options and learning pathways that can help them to achieve their goals and aspirations.
  • Responsible for accurately recording service delivery and reporting on it to the Manager Business Development and Community Liaison.
  • Facilitate industry, community and public engagement by building close relations with community groups/organisations and providing access to the services offered through the Skills and Job Centre.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and extensive experience in mentoring, community development or related apprenticeship services.
  • Understanding of the VET sector and the apprenticeship system within Australia and demonstrated experience in providing client support to apprentices or similar cohorts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure that information provided is succinct, effective and contains required content to achieve its purpose.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to influence the decision of others through logical persuasion, reason and facts.
  • Highly developed liaison and coordination skills; especially the ability to develop and utilise other services and networks to support apprentices and employers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as gaining cooperation from a range stakeholders with conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent administration and record keeping skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
