Medical Specialist - Rehabilitation Medicine

Permanent part time and full-time hours available
An exciting opportunity exists for multiple Rehabilitation Medicine Specialists to join our expanding Rehabilitation Team within Grampians Health.

The team currently operates across our acute and subacute sites, and consults to the Horsham campus on a fortnightly basis.

Opportunities also exists within a range of community programs.

Qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent degree enabling registration with AHPRA.
  • Current Fellow of Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (RACP).

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated appropriate level of experience and skills in the medical assessment and clinical management of patients
  • Excellent capacity to evaluate medical, social, emotional, occupational and recreational aspects of function in collaboration with allied health and nursing to develop patientcentred treatment plans in a range of settings
  • The ability to lead a multidisciplinary team to achieve clearly documented patient and team goals of therapy within a reasonable and transparent timeframe
  • Provide specialist knowledge and expertise in the prevention, assessment, management and medical supervision of a person with a disability
  • Provide clinical management of Neurological disorders (e.g., stroke, cerebral palsy, spinal injury, brain injury, spasticity and MS)
  • Musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions (e.g., fractures, joint replacements, arthritis, osteoporosis, and sporting injuries)
  • Acute and chronic pain, including back, neck and nerve pain
  • Amputations, occupational injury, cardiorespiratory disorders, cancers and burns
