What the role looks like:


The Training Lead drives efficiency across the operations by ensuring all training is delivered in alignment to the agreed national delivery standard & curriculum.


These standards are achieved by mentoring and developing team trainers, holding accountability to deliver planned training and assessing individual effectiveness aligned to the competency criteria.


The Training Lead also cascades the delivery methodology to team trainers, tracks training progression, maintains centralised documentation & identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.


You'll be adding value by:


  • Being responsible for all training across the distribution centre ensuring training is planned and delivered to meet the demands of the business, this includes induction training for new employees
  • Identifying training gaps through a training needs analysis of the DC and leveraging best practise to identify the key training needs and prioritise accordingly
  • Participating in and codeveloping fit for purpose training modules in conjunction with the National Technical Training Lead
  • Partnering and collaborating with your counterparts in the other DC's to share best practise and implement a consistent national approach
  • Support, develop and coach team trainers to enable a consistent delivery of the learning experience utilising the ask, tell, show, do methodology

The ideal team member will have:

  • Continuous improvement and growth mindset
  • An understanding of the Metcash business, warehousing operations, compliance, systems & processes inclusive of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Knowledge of Metcash safety policies & KPI's inclusive of workplace health & safety, chain of responsibility, TRIFR and HACCP safety compliance & injury management
  • Competency & demonstrated success in leading & delivering training & assessment across broad teams
  • Sound time management skills
