What you'll be doing
The eRIC CIS Manager will play a key role within the SCHN and will be required to:

  • allocate permissions to end users according to their role via Active Directory
- manage the daily checks/cleansing process of data within eRIC CIS for all three SCHN ICUs
- manage incidents within the eRIC CIS or escalate as appropriate
- co-ordinate planned downtime and manage unplanned downtime
- undertake data retrieval from the eRIC CIS for clinical, educational, research and administrative purposes using database queries including SQL within the individual SCHN ICUs
- assist in the development and revision of SCHN policies and procedures relevant to eRIC.
- analyse changing user needs and develop technical specifications for future modification and enhancements.
- manage any proposed changes/improvements to the eRIC CIS including raising matters, progress updates and communication of changes.
- undertake testing and training activities for eRIC CIS and integration activities with existing and future clinical information systems in SCHN.
- contribute to the design of new aspects of the eRIC CIS as suggested from sites across NSW

  • Demonstrated high level knowledge and understanding of clinical workflows and models of care within the Paediatric/Neonatal ICU environment and the integration requirements internal and external to the ICU.
  • Demonstrated high level of organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise workload and meet deadlines as a team member in an environment of continuous change and pressure
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with proven capacity or aptitude to teach, instruct and support staff in the use of new technologies and to support change.
  • Demonstrated highly developed oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels of staff, managers and external organisations.
  • A current, unrestricted driver's license. Must be able to work on site minimum of two days per week at each campus ie Westmead (CHW) and Randwick (SCH)
  • High level understanding of technical components relating to a clinical information systems in a critical care environment (e.g. networking principles, database relationships, integration requirements and device connectivity).

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA).

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
